Offer a variety of models using various shapes
Some models can be folded using regular shapes, such as equilateral triangles, pentagons, hexagons or other octogons. For instance, the iris participates particularly in the game.

The Flower-vase created by Peter-Paul Forcher is also a good example of this kind of variation. You will note that the size of the petals which are on the side of the vase decreases with the number of sides.

This transformation applies very often to foldings starting from the preliminary base or the waterbomb base. It will be enough to appy the same folding sequences to the choosen regular polygon. In a first step, fold a preliminary base with 3, 5, 6, 7 or 8 flaps. Then, use the same folding sequences as the ones of the original model. Train yourself with the iris flower!
