Modular origami: a second life for bus tickets |
| Bus tickets are, for a moment, a source of modules ready for folding. Download the document « Construction d'un cube à l'aide de tickets » and practice building cubes galore. Choose your tickets to play on the colors or patterns of them. Create cubes with all faces the same, or three colors, or ... let your imagination fly away! Once the construction of a mastered cube, download the document « Schéma de construction d'une éponge de Menger d'ordre 1 ». Start by constructing assemblies of two, then three and then four cubes, to fully understand the mechanism of attaching two cubes together. When you feel attack, follow the diagram step by step (or cube to cube). You will have to solve one or two small problems, especially the assembly of the last cube of the set. But the biggest challenge will be to carefully choose your tickets to play on their colors. Try for example to make a Menger sponge level 1 to three « colors », two opposite faces being of the same « color ». Choose a fourth « color » so that the holes stand out and are all dressed the same way. In fact, there are only 292 tickets to select! Finally, you do not have to do only cubes with or without holes. See for example the TAN Network: it is a table representing a virtual network of lines of hearts. You must have the ticket! Let your imagination wander, and create butterflies, hearts, animals, finally ... everything that goes through your head. |
