Modules preparation |
By definition, when we practice modular origami, we use modules (!). These are folded using sheets of paper generally of relatively small size (for example 7.5x7.5 cm) in quite a large number, sometimes several tens. The sheets can all have the same size, or different dimensions. For some tips on producing lots of sheets with a minimum of paper, download the following documents: - « Création de rectangles 1:2 ou 1:4 dans un carré » - « Création de rectangles 1:3 dans un carré » - « Création de rectangles 2:3 dans un carré » - « Création de carrés a√2 dans un carré » Care must be taken when folding and cutting these boards. The regularity of the sheets in which the modules will be folded is very important for the assembly to go smoothly. The modules are not necessarily square or rectangular. There are mosaics made with regular polygon arrangements (squares, equilateral triangles, hexagons). Flaviane Koti even proposed to use paper scraps resulting from the cutting of regular pentagons in squares. A little imagination and everything can be recovered! |
