The repertoire of the folder |
| The repertoire of paper folders is the set of symbols used in diagrams. There has been, and it is not finished, Homeric battles over the choice of symbols, the operations to be represented and the names to be given to them. If, today, a sort of de facto standard exists, there are still many variations on both the shape of the symbols and the graphics used. Some extracts of repertoires, spread over twenty years, are given below. Those marked N. Terry Collection were taken from books edited by him, with his permission. What is important is to understand the symbolized operation, and to know how to do it. There is no point in stopping on the symbolism itself, or on the name given to the operation.
