Making mosaics
Mosaic making is one of the major branches of decoration using paper folding.

The module that is proposed to you can create nice tables to look at. You can play on the colors and patterns of the modules.

This page is illustrated by a mosaic inspired by Paul Lohse's painting « six rangées de couleurs verticales systématiques », oil on canvas, exhibited at the Grenoble Museum.

Download the document « Diagramme du module pour une mosaïque », learn how to fold it neatly, assemble some modules and then ... do the most difficult: choose a layout plan and the colors and patterns that go with it! Once this work is done, all you have to do is fold the modules and assemble them.

Start with a small table, to properly control the attachment of modules between them. Gradually increase the size so that you can fully express yourself. You do not know what to do ? why not create small paintings carrying the initials of your friends? Download the document « Alphabet majuscule numérique », you will get an outline of the letters of the alphabet in upper case. It's nice, not too big and not too long to do.

If you want to go beyond your limits, try a table like « Stop War ». Some details :
- the table is approximately 95x95 cm and is mounted on a plexiglass plate 1x1m.
- 26x23 modules = 598 modules, folded in squares of 8.5x8.5 cm.
- Roman alphabet: 7 letters = 110 modules (58 + 52)
- braille alphabet: 8 letters (including space) = 48 modules,
- Morse alphabet: 29 modules
- the choice of colors meets both the need to use what I had (paper 80g pastel or flash) and a little symbolic:
. « STOP » part: the letters gradually go from the dark blue of the dark night to the green of hope.
. « WAR » part: violent colors ranging from magenta to red through bright orange.
. the background uses pastel colors ranging from light blue to bright yellow (this is the great hope!), passing through light green or pink.

That's it, you know everything, it's up to you!
