Tools
As with any manual activity, paper folding is facilitated by the use of some tools. They are not essential, but they make life easier!

* storage

The question of paper storage arises quickly if one decides to practice quite often.
The first condition is to have a dry place, paper not supporting (usually) moisture.

Protection or transport boxes are easily found for 15x15 cm paper. For sheets of reasonable dimensions, boxes for flat storage are welcome. For large dimensions, suspended storage is a good solution, but does not require less space!

Storage in rolls is also possible.

* paper preparation

When we get back from the pager, there is often a need to put it in the desired format. This is also true when one wants to use formats other than the square or the rectangle A. The usual tools are the following ones:
- cutting tools, such as scissors, scalpels, cutters, protected paper cutters,
- small or large cutting mats,
- rules, squares, rapporteurs.

One can also make his own paper, especially to obtain sheets of given colors. The technique of laminated paper is widely used, and requires
- MMC glue, or bomb,
- squeegees for smoothing.

* folding

You quickly get used to tools that allow you to easily make high quality bends. Let's quote:
- Folders, which strengthen the folds. Note that a small spoon is just fine. The back is used to make « soft » folds or the rim of the spoon to make « marked » folds.
- round-tip styli for everything that is pre-folding or marking. Some stylets are also designed to facilitate modeling.
- The small clothes pegs are very useful to keep in place bending during assembly (typical of decorative balls or modular) or during the drying phase of a wet bend. Tweezers will facilitate some wrinkles in places that are difficult to access, or very small.
- glue eventually (if if ...) regarding the implementation of some modular (mandalas are fixtures that can not hold without glue) or to ensure a certain rigidity to a folding.

* exhibition

The temptation to expose one's work for pedagogical purposes or for artistic purposes leads to the search for devices to emphasize a folding. The variety of devices is very large, some displays themselves being folds. This is an area where imagination is king!
